Frequently Asked Questions
Q:

What is a Sunnygram?

A:

A Sunnygram is a beautiful newsletter for your loved one filled with email messages and photos from family and friends. A Sunnygram is mailed via U.S. Postal Service each week so your loved one doesn't need to use a computer or any special equipment to stay connected.

Q:

How does the free trial work?

A:

For new subscribers, we are now offering one month free, no obligation. Try Sunnygram for a month and decide at the end whether you want to continue with the service.

Q:

How much does a Sunnygram subscription cost?

A:

Only $12.99 per month. There are absolutely no other fees. You can also purchase a 6 month subscription for $64.99 or a year subscription for $129.99.

Q:

Is it easy to read a Sunnygram?

A:

Yes! Sunnygrams are available in large print (18-pt) at no extra charge, and regular print is already quite large (14-pt). In addition, Sunnygrams are printed using color laser printers for a crisp picture.

Q:

I can just write a letter, put a stamp on it, and mail it. Why should I use Sunnygram?

A:

A Sunnygram subscription provides unlimited email and photo printing not just for you, but all of your loved one's family and friends. Plus, everyone has the added convenience of simply attaching photos and sending an email. This encourages family and friends to correspond a lot more frequently. The service also includes postage pre-paid response envelopes, customized stationery and unlimited toll free response calls so your loved one can respond for free. Sunnygram's mission is to help families stay connected.

Q:

How many people can send email to my loved one?

A:

There is no limit to the number of people who can send emails. Once you've created the email address for your loved one, share it with all family members and friends who want to stay in touch.

Q:

When do Sunnygrams go out each week?

A:

Sunnygram prints on Wednesdays and mails messages on Thursdays. The cutoff deadline for messages is noon PST on Wednesday, otherwise they will be printed the following week. Occasionally there are slight delays if there are Sunnygrams that need extra attention, but this is generally our schedule.

Q:

Is Sunnygram only for older relatives?

A:

No. Sunnygram is for anyone who does not have a computer or regular access to email. This may include older relatives, but may also include friends and family who are in the military or those in remote locations with poor internet service. We also serve families with loved ones who are incarcerated.

Q:

Can I give a Sunnygram subscription as a gift?

A:

Absolutely! When a recipient is first signed up for Sunnygram, he or she receives a Welcome Pack in the mail, complete with a welcome letter, welcome card with a message from you, colorful keepsake folder for saving Sunnygrams, brochure describing the service, magnet and stickers with our toll-free number for responding by phone. The Welcome Pack and Sunnygram subscription makes a perfect gift whether you choose the yearly subscription, 6 month subscription, or monthly plan.

Q:

I was planning to get my Mother a computer. Why should I consider Sunnygram?

A:

Computers are great for some people, but they are expensive and sometimes difficult to use. Almost everyone has had trouble opening an attachment or has gotten frustrated sifting through spam. A Sunnygram subscription eliminates these issues and allows your loved one to receive email messages and photos hassle free. Another factor to consider is that the price of internet access alone can be three to five times more expensive than a Sunnygram subscription, not to mention the price of the computer equipment. Sunnygram is perfect for families on a budget.

Q:

Is there a limit to how often I can write?

A:

No. Write as often as you wish.

Q:

How often is the newsletter sent?

A:

The Sunnygram newsletters are sent once a week in our bright and cheery yellow envelope. Between newsletters, your loved one's emails are collected and formatted for the next newsletter.

Q:

Is there a fee for my loved one to reply through the mail or by phone?

A:

No, there are no additional fees. Your loved one can respond as often as he or she desires using our toll-free phone number and postage pre-paid envelopes.

Q:

Is Sunnygram secure?

A:

Sunnygram processes incoming messages using secure proprietary message-handling software. It is as secure as email and postal mail. Message content is not read by any employee or agent of Sunnygram at any time, maximizing privacy. Our system also eliminates spam, only allowing messages from approved email addresses.

Q:

What is the best way to send photos with Sunnygram?

A:

Simply attach up to 20 photos per email and click send. It's that easy. We use high resolution color laser printers to print your photos, so picture quality is excellent. Our mail system accepts emails no larger than 20 MB (which is plenty for most people), so if you have several very large image files, you may wish to reduce the file size before sending to Sunnygram. Sunnygram accepts the most common image file formats, including JPEG, TIFF, GIF, PNG, PCX, and BMP formats. Additionally, images should be at least 10kbs and attached to an email rather than linked.

Q:

How do I get started?

A:

Sign up on-line by following the easy directions here. Or, call our customer service at (888) 51-SUNNY. It is easy and you will be able to start sending messages today.

Q:

Can I get credit for referring a friend to Sunnygram?

A:

Absolutely! We would love for you to pass the word about Sunnygram, and to show our appreciation, we will send you a $5 check in the mail for anyone referred by you. When the referred friend signs up, they should enter your email address as the person who referred them. Then, you will get an email asking where you want the check to be mailed. It's that easy!

Q:

Do I need to have an account at Sunnygram to get credit for referring a friend to Sunnygram?

A:

No. Anyone can receive credit, we mail you a check.
